Thanks to tough choices at the state level, New York State’s economy is growing again, but not fast enough and not evenly enough to make sure that all families benefit from the changes that are taking place. George knows that we need to keep spending under control, but we also need to take actions that help the private sector grow jobs.

George strongly supported increasing the minimum wage, which increases local economic activity by putting more money in workers’ pockets, but he’s also aware that we need to do more to help the small businesses impacted by the wage increase. In addition, George will work to get more Women and Minority-Owned Businesses into the MWBE pipeline to help them grow and create jobs; invest in infrastructure to create jobs and foster a better business environment; and work with our major employers and educational institutions to make sure that our students today are ready for the jobs of tomorrow.
